Lahmacun in Genk

Lahmacun is paper-thin dough with a spiced topping of minced meat, tomato and pepper, baked quickly in a hot oven. At Ayintap Grill Oven it comes from the same kitchen as our grill: a light meal on its own, or on the table with kebab and meze.

Lahmacun in Genk

Lahmacun is not pizza

Lahmacun is sometimes called “Turkish pizza”, but it is something else: no cheese, a much thinner base and a fine layer of spiced minced meat. It is eaten hot with fresh parsley, onion and a squeeze of lemon, often rolled up.

Fresh from our oven on Stalenstraat

We bake lahmacun and pide in our own oven, next to the ocakbaşı grill. In Genk you can pair a lahmacun with an Adana or a grill platter, or take a few home.
